The Tacks AS-V model, like the top-end Tacks AS-V, features D3O smart material in many areas of the shoulder pads, providing premium impact protection and shock absorption. In the shoulder caps, the AS-V features D3O and JDP cap construction, designed to disperse the force of impact away from the shoulders. These technologies combine to provide excellent impact resistance from any type of contact.
In the sternum and spine, D3O partners with Vent-Tech construction for added airflow, and a floating sternum with spine hybrid shields to provide protection in these areas for impact absorption no matter how you move on the ice.
CCM implements their Flexmotion base jacket and adjustable strap system for the construction of the 9080. This anatomical design prevents the shoulder pads from lifting so the protective features, like D3O, stay close to the body, acting as an extension of the torso. The adjustable strap system provides a personalized fit, ensuring the protective features of the entire shoulder pad work as they are designed to.
CCM also places a focus on protecting key areas like the kidneys and spine. The Tacks AS-V uses molded MD EVA foam for excellent kidney coverage and floating sternum coverage, protecting you as you move. For added torso protection, CCM uses their removable belly and lower back pad, which also provides customized comfort.
For comfort, CCM uses a sublimated liner with dual layer stretch panels, designed for maximum air flow and mobility. This high-tech liner keeps the pads light while you stay cool and dry throughout the game.
